Touch for Health
Kinesiology is a remarkable system that enables the practitioner to work with a wide range of issues. The energetic model of the mind/body, is that energy that both reflects the physiology and affects the physiology. The mind/body seeks an innate sense of balance, but sometimes needs assistance to re-establish that balance.
With Kinesiology, the mind/body actually leads the practitioner to the source or origin of the problem that is creating a stress, be that emotional, mental, physical or energetic. It is through the remarkable biofeedback mechanism of muscle testing that the response of the subconscious can be directly monitored.
The person’s muscle response is also capable of directing the therapy to resolve the problem. Thus the Kinesiologist is the facilitator of the mind/body’s own wish to be healed and whole. Every person is unique, every Kinesiology balance completely individual as the practitioner follows the clues that the mind/body provides through these neurological responses to the muscle testing.
Kinesiology is a unique blend of ancient energetic healing arts and western physiological healing sciences. Mind and body are reconnected and the person who seeks healing is empowered and the person who seeks healing is empowered with the responsibility for his/her health.
This is a modified form of applied kinesiology, which seeks to channel energies in the body to enhance health and prevent disease. It was developed by American chiropractor Dr John Thie in the early 1970s. as with Dr John Goodheart’s theory of applied kinesiology, that most forms of muscle spasm are responses to faults in posture, energy or nutrition levels, Touch for Health also uses muscle tests to identify imbalances, not just from the perspective of a single muscle or muscle group, but as an indicator of the energy pattern within the whole body. Touch for Health practitioners will examine in detail any changes in posture which a patient demonstrates, seeing these as indicators of health in mind and body. Deep tissue muscle massage or light touch is then used to correct the faults and restore the body’s natural energy flow, with the aim of improving posture and increasing a sense of wellbeing. Like applied kinesiology, Touch for Health uses acupuncture points to stimulate energy flow throughout the body. Probably the main difference is that more aspects of mental health are examined; the effects of certain mental conditions, anxieties and stresses are said to reveal themselves in muscle spasms and energy imbalances, just as nutritional deficiencies
